Sir Elton John & David Furnish become Proud Parents to a Baby Boy

 It had been no secret that the duo wanted to be mum and dad parents. The two, who tied the knot in 2005 civil ceremony, after 12 years of being together, even tried adoption.

Sir Elton and his husband, David, nearly managed to adopt a child from Russia but due to the Russian restrictive laws (not allowing Gay couples to adopt children. i.e.) the couple didn't succeed. However, they have been supporting the orphan boy and his brother financially to this day.

Now, the proud couple are happy to announce that they have become proud Mom (Sir Elton, 62) and dad (David, 48) to a baby boy born of a surrogate mother woman (can't call her the mom coz that title applies to Sir Elton) based in California.

The boy, named Zachary,  is 7lb and healthy and here's what the couple had to say:

"We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment...Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents"

 Also, during an interview, David had revealed their plans for raising a family by themsleves and not by dumping the kids on nannies:

"We don't want to put the raising of children into the hands of nannies and housekeepers. We want to be active parents. We have godchildren [and] kids that we support in Africa, so we're fine."
