I hate politics, and I wouldn't delve into personal affairs of politicians, but out of my love and respect for Governor's wife Silda, I couldn't resist this one.

Elliot Spitzer anounced his resignation following revelations of his association with a prostitution ring. According to associated press, the NY governor apologised to his family and the public for his actions. That's what the beloved New York governor had to say before resigining earlier today:

"I am deeply sorry I did not live up to what was expected of me," Spitzer said in a tightly scripted three-minute statement during which he betrayed no emotion.

"To every New Yorker and all those who believe in what I tried to stand for, I sincerely apologize. I look at my time as governor with a sense of what might have been.

"There is much more to be done," he added, his wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, standing expressionless at his side. "And I cannot allow my private failings to disrupt the people's work."

And here are some of the Key facts in the Eliot Spitzer scandal, according to associated press:

Feb. 13: So Eliot Spitzer checks into Room 871 of the Mayflower Hotel in Washington and is caught on a wiretap offering $4,300 to a call-girl service, with some of the money for a night with a prostitute and the rest as credit toward future trysts.

Feb. 14: Spitzer testifies before a congressional subcommittee about regulations on the bond industry.
Friday: Federal prosecutors inform Spitzer he is named in their investigation of a high-priced prostitution ring. He is referred to as Client 9 in federal documents.

Saturday: Spitzer attends Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, a white-tie event attended by Washington's elite.
Monday: Spitzer's office says an afternoon announcement will be made, but no topic is provided.

The New York Times reports that Spitzer has told advisers he was involved in what federal officials call a prostitution ring.
Spitzer appears in his Manhattan office with his wife, Silda, and apologizes to his family and the public. He doesn't elaborate on the report that he was involved in a prostitution ring.

He goes into seclusion in his Fifth Avenue apartment with his wife and daughters.
Tuesday: State Assembly Republican leader James Tedisco says he'll call for articles of impeachment against Spitzer if the governor doesn't resign within 48 hours.

Wednesday: Spitzer resigns, saying: "I cannot allow my private failings to disrupt the people's work."

The embattled Governor apparently spent like over 80 grand (80,000 bucks) over time on a prostitution services firm, hiring expensive prostitutes and paying as much as $4 to $5 grand per hour. Ok, it maybe painfully obvious that governer Spitzer was way too horny, but there are certain questions that keep popping up in my head. Was your wife not giving you enough time in bed? Was she not good enough for you to go out and lick prostitutes? Why governor why? How could you betray your wife Silda, who happens to be such a wonderful woman? I'm in shock, but not surprised, Governor!
